ABOUT ALEA SCHOOL

ALEA SCHOOL is an independent school with a cosmopolitan profile. ALEA SCHOOL combines the German curriculum with that of the International Baccalaureate (IB), an internationally recognized educational standard. The bilingual elementary school with entry level allows children to start school at the age of five. The bilingual G9 grammar school can be finished with both a German baccalaureate and an IB diploma as an internationally recognized university qualification.

“ALEA SCHOOL shall be a place where children laugh and learn – in the midst of the natural wonders of the Spessart region, like flora and fauna right outside the classroom window, and the woodpecker forest within easy reach for classroom excursions. We are creating a learning atmosphere in which curiosity and a thirst for knowledge can flourish and where strong roots can grow into the soil of a student’s personality. At ALEA SCHOOL, global citizens will grow up knowing how to take on social and ecological responsibility. Our world needs this more than ever.”

– ALEA founder and park sponsor Henning Strauss.

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

FOR MAIN-KINZIG

ALEA SCHOOL is aimed at educating local and regional children: because understanding requires communication. We promote cultural exchange structurally – part of the student body is made up of children from local families whose parents would like to relocate their workplace internationally or place great importance on a sound linguistic education. The ALEA SCHOOL’s education program is also intended to attract international professionals to the region.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

ALEA SCHOOL is based on two ideological pillars: In the spirit of cosmopolitanism, young people should be educated to become global citizens and socially committed personalities. An appreciative approach to fellow human beings, regardless of their origin, is central to ALEA’s philosophy. Understanding requires a common language, common values, and a common experience. In addition, an attitude towards nature shapes life and teaching at ALEA SCHOOL. A conscious approach to resources and the surrounding world – especially its botanical heritage – should be taught.

HOME OF THE

WOODPECKERS

Learning in a green environment: ALEA SCHOOL is located in the middle of the wondrous Spessart forest – and right next to the ALEA PARK. The botany is, so to speak, the trellis on which the curriculum and students grow towards the sun. The flora and fauna of the woodpecker’s forest surround the school both sensually and spiritually. The woodpecker is also the institute’s heraldic animal: ALEA SCHOOL – Home of the Woodpeckers!

DEVELOPMENT PLAN

Scholarship framework conditions

In principle, anyone can apply for a scholarship. The award committee will take various criteria into account when selecting the scholarship holders: First and foremost, the economic eligibility of an applicant family. This is based on the average household income (approx. €70,000) in the Main-Kinzig district and the applicant confirms that they have a lower household income. Voluntary commitment, special achievements or a particularly convincing application are also taken into account.

When applying for a scholarship, applicants must provide basic information, a letter of motivation and a letter of recommendation from a (class) teacher. After submission, the awarding committee will review the application and contact the applicants regarding the next steps.

At the present moment, two scholarship programs have already been confirmed.

  1. The Norbert Strauss partial scholarship
    5x per year
Covers €400 of the school fees
  2. The Bad Orb full scholarship
    2x per year
    Covers the entire school fees

Further scholarship programs are currently being developed.

There will be both full and partial scholarships. Depending on the type of scholarship, either all or part of the school fees will be covered by the scholarship. Both scholarship models cover tuition fees up to the 10th grade to the extent indicated.
