Bad Orb presents model project for public-private partnership in the Hessian State Representation in the government district.
In recent years, Bad Orb has played a pioneering role nationwide in terms of future spa medicine concepts and repositioning as a location. Bad Orb presented the numerous infrastructure projects in the fields of medicine, education, sport and accommodation at the Hessenfest in Berlin. In particular, the close cooperation between the city, the spa company and the non-profit ALEA initiative is regarded as a model project for public-private partnerships. Hessian companies, associations, the media and numerous members of the Bundestag and the Hessian State Parliament come together at the Hessenfest in the Hessian State Representation in Berlin’s government district to represent Hessian culture and business in the capital. Bad Orb in the best of company: At the Hessenfest on Wednesday, the spa town presented its flagship projects in terms of repositioning the location alongside Hessian pioneers such as Merck, Fraport and Mainova. In particular, the infrastructure projects BALNOVA (bathhouse with diagnostic center including radiology and physiotherapy center), CURA SILVA (spa and healing forest), ALEA PARK (green-blue infrastructure with parks and green spaces for the economic, ecological and social future of the city) and the ALEA SCHOOL (international education project) met with great interest in the capital. Hesse’s Minister President Boris Rhein (CDU) said: “I am delighted that local authorities are presenting themselves as havens of social cooperation at the Hessenfest in Berlin. The town of Bad Orb has presented an exciting project of cooperation between public authorities and private companies in our state representation. It is an example of how a municipality can combine natural and cultural advantages with innovative commitment for the future.” Bad Orb presented its brand essence as a spa and medical location with the pioneering BALNOVA and CURA SILVA projects. Nina Warken (CDU), Federal Minister for Health and the Hessian Minister for Family, Senior Citizens, Sport, Health and Care, Diana Stolz (CDU) also became aware of Bad Orb’s initiative to reinvent the spa at the Bad Orb stand. Hesse’s Minister of Education Armin Schwarz (CDU), who attended the opening ceremony of the ALEA SCHOOL last Friday, reiterated: “Bad Orb is bringing additional appeal to Hesse with the ALEA SCHOOL education initiative. The town and private stakeholders have recognized the opportunity and the need to make the educational location attractive for local children and families from all over the world with an international school.” Bad Orb’s mayor Tobias Weisbecker, who represented his town in Berlin, was delighted with the positive feedback on the Orber Weg: “We are the first spa town to present itself at the Hessenfest. That shows: Bad Orb is doing a lot of things right and is perceived as a ‘best case’ nationwide. This should motivate us to continue working on our appeal and our spa capital.” Johannes Wiegelmann, who represents constituency 174 (Main-Kinzig – Wetterau II – Schotten) in Berlin as a member of the Bundestag, welcomed Bad Orb’s presence in the capital: “Private commitment to the community is needed more than ever. Bad Orb and ALEA are exemplary in this respect. The initiative creates infrastructure for generations and thus strengthens a rural region with great development potential.”
In principle, anyone can apply for a scholarship. The award committee will take various criteria into account when selecting the scholarship holders: First and foremost, the economic eligibility of an applicant family. This is based on the average household income (approx. €70,000) in the Main-Kinzig district and the applicant confirms that they have a lower household income. Voluntary commitment, special achievements or a particularly convincing application are also taken into account.
When applying for a scholarship, applicants must provide basic information, a letter of motivation and a letter of recommendation from a (class) teacher. After submission, the awarding committee will review the application and contact the applicants regarding the next steps.
At the present moment, two scholarship programs have already been confirmed.
Further scholarship programs are currently being developed.
There will be both full and partial scholarships. Depending on the type of scholarship, either all or part of the school fees will be covered by the scholarship. Both scholarship models cover tuition fees up to the 10th grade to the extent indicated.
